Born in the Pacific Northwest and raised by nature loving, artistic parents, art has been woven into my life from an early age.

Drawing was strongly encouraged as a family activity. My parents' natural artistic talents and love for Nature nurtured my artistic expression.

We eventually moved from Portland, OR to Kirkland, WA where I remained for 15 years. While there I attended the Seattle Academy of Fine Art, know known as Gage. Attended various art classes and lectures and attended the Florence Academy of Fine Art in Florence, Italy for a trimester.  There I studied in the Style of the Masters charcoal drawing and figure and portraiture.

Most of my education was in the classical style, focusing of likeness expression of the subject, either on canvas or paper in oils or pencil.

Subjects I prefer to be organic in nature. Still life studies I relish in addition to striving to express an animal's spirit in 2-D. Close-up studies I find bring me appreciation and admiration to the complexity and beauty of Nature. I will never be without subjects to admire in this beautiful place we call home.
